Enjoyed Julian's review and was amazed to discover about the young man in question. Enjoy!

I have no idea what he's on about. I think it's not complimentary!
Oops! Sorry to have highlighted this then. Maybe i shouild re-read his words and see if i've missed something(?) Away from all that, just have to say that it's wonderful you are back making music again which i hope will continue to enrich our lives for many years to come. Much love, John Campbell x
In case you're not fully aware of Richard Sanderson's subsequent underground glories, he didn't sit still after becoming Edwyn Collins (would love to know how that looked and sounded). In recent years he's combined avant-improvisation with electronical experiments in a variety of bands including the seminal Ticklish with Kev Hopper and Scopac, become a champion lefty/folkie blogger, club promoter and Resonance FM broadcaster, a passionate morris dancer - and been threatened with serious violence by Mark E Smith as a result of his leading role in Fall tribute band The Hideous Replicas. He's a great bunch of guys!

This was his response to Julian Cope on his Livejournal blog: http://bagrec.livejournal.com/744245.html?mode=reply

I'm afraid it definitely wasn't a compliment from Julian, Edwyn. It's no secret that by the early 80s I had the kind of fanatical love for Orange Juice that was later seen in fans of The Smiths, and it did influence the music I made as I moved away from the more bitter Wire influenced music I made with Drop- especially my singing where I affected an Edwyn-esque croon rather than just shouting.... Julian didn't approve, but then I didn't really like his monoliths and turtle shells much either... Listening to Orange Juice also got me listening to disco and soul, which I'm sure Julian wouldn't have approved of either.

Thanks for the kind comments Lindo!

Art Work and Bum Fuzz

Posted by scott owen on May 5, 2017 at 17:15 0 Comments

My Bum Fuzz unit just arrived in California along with some plectrums with Edwin art. It took me along time to order this unit, but the twenty five year gestation period for it to be built surely eclipses my lack of urgency. Best regards all...

Thank you for the music

A while back I asked Edwyn if he would let me use his music on a little film I made.  Here is the result: Mill Mechanics

Thanks for that.

Shareefa Energy – ‘Reasoning With Self’ - Review

A few months ago the BBC offered a profile of new emerging female poets, ‘Women Who Spit’. Watching the short films by Jemima Foxtrot, Cecilia Knapp and Deanna Rodger, I noted with great relief that the art of poetry is alive and well. I have always been fascinated by the medium. The ability to express intricate thoughts and feelings in a few lines of words. It is the most empowering process. And empowerment through self-expression… Continue

Dear Edwyn,

Can I just thank you for your contribution to my life. From that very first shiver I got listening to Felicity on the John Peel Show to the smile I still express today when you burst into laughter half way through Consolation Prize, it's important I let you know how much your music means to me before one of us croaks it.

I was hooked instantly and bought all the singles and albums, the ten inches, 12 inches and even ripped the flexi discs off Smash Hits and Melody…
