Hey folks! my name is Greg, and being 17 I am probably the youngest Edwyn Collins/OJ fan around! People my age generally don't have a clue how much influence their music has had on the current indie scene, but he is definitley a hero in what he has accomplished musically, and in terms of his illness! It was great meeting you guys (edwyn and grace) the other week at waterstones in London, edwyn's voice gets better each time I hear it and can't wait to hear the new stuff! (I'm losing sleep sounds promising).

anyway, I have a couple of q's about archived footage of edwyn, in particular the 'Home for the holidays' special recorded for stv in 2004, mentioned in Grace's new book. Is the footage available to download/stream anywhere online? I think there's a couple of clips taken from it in the Home again documentary, and am really interested the whole thing. Scotland is great, in particular Edinburgh, which has to be in my top 10 cities in the world!
Also, Grace hints at a possible re-release or re-run of West Heath Yard in the book, any info on this yet? or perhaps I am reading too deep into things! If so, I can't wait to see this as the single lasagne for one clip has certainly wetted my appetite!

Anyway, cheers and hope to see you again soon when you return to London sir!

Greg

ooops Greg, I'm sorry. I'm putting the tour together and it's flat out....I need to dig it out. Good news! I've got all the episodes of West Heath Yard and the hour special, West Heath House. I'm sending them tomorrow to be transferred onto something I can shove onto Youtube. tell me, can you do it direct from DVD? I've never uploaded anything before, I'm a bit thick..
Hi Grace, You know I have episodes 1-6 already digitized? If you'd like to discuss the options for making them available online, please do get in touch. Cheers.
Bump!

Hi Folks. Hope you are well. I found this clip online from Home For The Holidays and wondered if there was any more available? http://video.stv.tv/bc/programmes-nightshift-201007010-home-for-the...

It's an interesting clip and I'd still love to see the whole thing. Seen clips around and about of Edwyn in the studio as well which I presume are from the same show. If you're busy with the tour and everything then that's fair enough. Missed Edwyn on this one but will hopefully catch you next time!

Greg.

I've just posted the Blueboy video on Youtube (and in the videos section of this site)

Not the original video - but it was put together when the re-activated Postcard released Heather's On Fire circa 1992.

It does however have some great archive footage of the young OJ boys shot on Super 8.

Not sure how long it will stay on Youtube as it was flagged as possibly being copyrighted to Domino Records (based on the file description)
Thanks Frankie, enjoyed that, would be great if any more of that early stuff exists anywhere.....
Most is on Youtube
Nothing like an enthusiastic teenager with good taste. And one that can write in paragraphs too.

I'm sure there are huge number of young fans. Many of us old enough to have seen Orange Juice live now have offspring being brought up with Edwyn's music. My youngest was just two when he used to sit in the back of the car shouting 'shade a boo mummy, shade a boo' (he wanted me to play 50 Shades of Blue). He's the grand old age of seven now and still a raging fan.
My 6 year old heard the new Beverly Knight single with the Rip It Up sample the other day, and
wandered away singing " rip it up and start again".....

Hope I'm not brainwashing her too much.
Found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FT4ilXQDHHc

snooping around on youtube! I like it. Perhaps we will see more of this soon?

Unintentional-Spoiler Alert!

No! . . . please don't watch the above YouTube clip until you've seen the earlier episodes. The section that you have linked to shows the closing 10 minutes of the final one-hour special, West Heath House.

Begin by watching West Heath Yard, showing here, on this very site: one episode each Friday, starting tomorrow (19/11/09).

Art Work and Bum Fuzz

Posted by scott owen on May 5, 2017 at 17:15 0 Comments

My Bum Fuzz unit just arrived in California along with some plectrums with Edwin art. It took me along time to order this unit, but the twenty five year gestation period for it to be built surely eclipses my lack of urgency. Best regards all...

Thank you for the music

A while back I asked Edwyn if he would let me use his music on a little film I made.  Here is the result: Mill Mechanics

Thanks for that.

Shareefa Energy – ‘Reasoning With Self’ - Review

A few months ago the BBC offered a profile of new emerging female poets, ‘Women Who Spit’. Watching the short films by Jemima Foxtrot, Cecilia Knapp and Deanna Rodger, I noted with great relief that the art of poetry is alive and well. I have always been fascinated by the medium. The ability to express intricate thoughts and feelings in a few lines of words. It is the most empowering process. And empowerment through self-expression… Continue

Dear Edwyn,

Can I just thank you for your contribution to my life. From that very first shiver I got listening to Felicity on the John Peel Show to the smile I still express today when you burst into laughter half way through Consolation Prize, it's important I let you know how much your music means to me before one of us croaks it.

I was hooked instantly and bought all the singles and albums, the ten inches, 12 inches and even ripped the flexi discs off Smash Hits and Melody…
