Nice to hear Rip It Up being sampled in this track by Beverley Knight.

I think it works quite well.
Anyone else have any thoughts on it?

Well she hasn't sampled it, just taken the tune in its entirety and added new words. In my view the song is rubbish but I must confess I’ve never liked sampling it’s just for those lazy people who lack originality.
It is woeful. As I said in lamentation to the skies when I first heard it "is NOTHING sacred!".

I think it's especially disappointing that it was Beverely Knight who did this. I always considered her one of the last old school soul singer types who was holding out against numbing modernity. It says much about modern production techniques that they can take a fairly talented singer and make her voice sound absolutely awful.

But then it's easy for us to deride folks for selling out when the struggling artiste can barely put food in their mouth while all we music fans are having teams of bikini girls lightening our Cuban cigars with £100 notes as we lounge on our luxury pleasure boat moored off Inverkip.

Most showbiz types only dream of our carefree lifestyles. They are the modern peons. Pity the poor artist who can only scrap a bare subsistence with the soul destroying credo "...by any means possible".
hahahaha! bikinis in Inverkip ?

btw I hope Howard Devoto didnt have the same precious outlook when he first heard Rip It Up :)
