Hi all

Given it's forty-odd years since OJ were out there gigging, unsurprising most of the bootleg tapes people once had have ended up in bin or lost for good. These are the recordings I have, varied quality:

  1. 10TH APRIL 1980 – EDINBURGH NITE CLUB (supporting JOSEF K)
  2. 17TH APRIL 1980 - GLASGOW, TECH COLLEGE (w/JOSEF K, GO-BETWEENS)
  3. 9TH SEPT 1980 - PAISLEY, BUNGALOW BAR (w/JOSEF K, GO-BETWEENS??)
  4. 1ST NOV 1980 - MANCHESTER POLY (JOHN PEEL ROADSHOW)
  5. 4TH JAN 1981 - LONDON, ICA (w/JOSEF K, BLUE ORCHIDS)
  6. 6. 10TH APRIL 1981 - STIRLING, MAYFIELD CENTRE
  7. 10TH MAY 1981- EDINBURGH, VALENTINOS (w/ BLAZING SADDLES
  8. 6TH AUG 1981 - LONDON, THE VENUE (w/ THE BLUEBELLS)
  9. 19TH AUG 1981 - LIVERPOOL, PLATOS (w/ PALE FOUNTAINS, WILD SWANS)
  10. 20TH AUG 1981 LEEDS WAREHOUSE
  11. 20TH JAN 1982 - LONDON, THE VENUE (w/ DOLLY MIXTURE?)
  12. MYSTERY 1982 GIG (MANCHESTER? UEA? LIVERPOOL?)
  13. 19TH FEB 1982 - BIRMINGHAM, IMPERIAL CINEMA (w/ DISLOCATION DANCE)
  14. 2ND MARCH 1982 - SHEFFIELD, UNIVERSITY (w/ CHINA CRISIS)
  15. 6TH MARCH 1982 - RETFORD PORTERHOUSE
  16. 4TH APRIL 1982 - EDINBURGH, VALENTINOS (w/CHINA CRISIS)
  17. 13TH MAY 1982, TV CLUB, DUBLIN (w/BLADES)
  18. 11th NOV 1982 - LONDON, BRIXTON ACE (w/ORKESTRA JAZIRA) (2 SONGS)
  19. 24TH NOV1982 - KEELE, UNIVERSITY (w/STRAWBERRY SWITCHBLADE)
  20. 29TH NOV 1982 - EDINBURGH, COASTERS (w/STRAWBERRY SWITCHBLADE)
  21. 31ST MARCH 1983 - LONDON, LYCEUM (w/MARINE GIRLS, GO-BETWEENS)
  22. 6TH AUG 1983 - LONDON, GLC PEACE CONCERT, VICTORIA PARK
  23. 9TH MAY 1984 - NEWCASTLE, MAYFAIR CLUB (w/ BLACK)
  24. 13tTH MAY 1984 – EDINBURGH, CALEY PALACE (w/ BLACK)
  25. 21ST JUN 1984 - LONDON, HAMMERSMITH PALAIS (w/JONATHAN RICHMAN, JAMES KING)
  26. 22ND SEPT 1984 – LONDON, CRYSTAL PALACE DOME (GLC GIG)

I hope to have some others soon - Glasgow Pavilions 1982, Glasgow Mayfair 1982, Newcastle Dingwells 1983 hopefully winging their way to me.

But what other tapes exist or existed? I certainly know of the following: Leicester Poly 1984, Northumbria Uni 1984, Portsmouth Poly 1984, Southampton 1980, Lancaster 1980, Manchester Rafters 1982, Nottingham Boat Club 1981, Retford Porterhouse 1981 (not 1982!) I don't have any tapes of the final Artisans tour so would be good to chase down one of those gigs for sure.

Are there others? If you have any, I can digitise these and share. Feels important all this great Juice is preserved for those who want to enjoy it! (and if you do want to hear, get onto the Postcard Records facebook fan group)

Also now have Essex 20.11.82; Newcastle Dingwalls 26.3.82; Glasgow Mayfair 6.4.82; Glasgow Pavilion 26.3.84 and Venue 25.2.82 (the latter being the third recording I have of a venue gig!)

Also Lyceum 6 May 1984, Hull 6 Nov 1984 too.

We hope it will have some others soon.

Hi Phil. Greetings from Scotland. Do you have anything by China Crisis? I don’t have any OJ but I do have China Crisis and Aztec Camera bootlegs.
Thanks in advance

Art Work and Bum Fuzz

Posted by scott owen on May 5, 2017 at 17:15 0 Comments

My Bum Fuzz unit just arrived in California along with some plectrums with Edwin art. It took me along time to order this unit, but the twenty five year gestation period for it to be built surely eclipses my lack of urgency. Best regards all...

Thank you for the music

A while back I asked Edwyn if he would let me use his music on a little film I made.  Here is the result: Mill Mechanics

Thanks for that.

Shareefa Energy – ‘Reasoning With Self’ - Review

A few months ago the BBC offered a profile of new emerging female poets, ‘Women Who Spit’. Watching the short films by Jemima Foxtrot, Cecilia Knapp and Deanna Rodger, I noted with great relief that the art of poetry is alive and well. I have always been fascinated by the medium. The ability to express intricate thoughts and feelings in a few lines of words. It is the most empowering process. And empowerment through self-expression… Continue

Dear Edwyn,

Can I just thank you for your contribution to my life. From that very first shiver I got listening to Felicity on the John Peel Show to the smile I still express today when you burst into laughter half way through Consolation Prize, it's important I let you know how much your music means to me before one of us croaks it.

I was hooked instantly and bought all the singles and albums, the ten inches, 12 inches and even ripped the flexi discs off Smash Hits and Melody…
