Hello from the US of A where we are eagerly awaiting the return of "Sir" Edwyn to these shores.  The Second coming indeed!

I recently picked up Grace's book and was reading at a manic pace when I was shocked to find I had read 50 pages in less than 5 minutes! Wot?!? Looking down at the page numbers it seems I had gone from page 86 to page 135!  The paragraph that starts : A YOUNG IRISH DOCTOR... ends with the sentence on the next page: "there, so neither of us had time to worry."

Eeek! I'm missing 50 pages but the binding looks correct.  The total number of pages is 323.  But Amazon says total pages is 288.  what's going on? Has anyone else had this problem?  Are the pages just misnumbered or is a big chunk of the story gone missing?

Imagine my situation...I'm avidly reading it and I am forced to take up Keith Richards' autobiography instead!

Love to all...

Philip......eeek!!! You ARE missing 50 pages. Shocking. But I'm very grateful to you for alerting me to this mis-pressing. On the hardback (which my publisher rushes without allowing ME a final proofing) there were about fifty typos and misprints. Makes me wild......
I'll DM you - send me your address and I'll get a replacement to you.

My copy of the book - bought from Amazon UK - was exactly the same, I was gutted to discover whilst reading it on my way home yesterday, but Amazon seem v happy to exchange it and are sending a replacement (by first class post, not that that will mean much to you Philip). My fellow tube passengers must have thought I was bonkers - one minute I was dripping tears, the next I was madly flipping through the book trying to find the missing pages and muttering curses about sloppy publishers.

Which leads me on to say, what a ****ing wonderful book, Grace. Despite the heroic efforts of doctors, in 2003 my best friend died of massive brain injuries after falling off a mountain in Scotland, and four years before that my then baby son nearly died from meningitis, so I have (more than?) my fair share of ICU experiences. Which probably explains all the tears on the tube. But you express it all so .... words fail me. Brilliantly. So, thank you. As soon as Amazon deliver, I will be reading on.

And a big 'thank you' to Edwyn too, for the fab songs on Losing Sleep. I seem to have missed all the gigs, so I hope there are more in the pipeline. Please!!!

Richard
An update: my replacement copy arrived from Amazon today, and it has all the right pages. So, where was I .... oh yes, page 87.

Well, I have finished Falling & Laughing.  Utterly spellbinding.  Yesterday, I went to see my (deaf and hemiplegic) son, Sam, performing in his school's xmas show.  He managed a few lines, and almost knocked over the girl he was supposed to be dancing with, but hey it was fantastic.  And I kept thinking of Grace's "cheesy happy ending".  All things are possible.

Thank you, Grace, and thank you, Edwyn.

Hopefully arriving soon!  I finished Keef's biography and am now reading Will Hodgkinson's Song Man about how to write a song.

Hi Philip

Where did you purchase your copy of Falling and Laughing from?

Best wishes.

Susan

Woo hoo! I have tickets for Shepherds Bush on 16 Feb.
Just had the same problem. What a moving account so far. I shall find out from my wife where she got the book (Christmas present along with Losing Sleep t-shirt and CD) and contact them.

Please do. But let me know also. I will get my publisher onto the problem. It's very frustrating. So very sorry.

Hello.  Still haven't gotten a replacement for the misprint book :-(

When all the tour craziness winds down can we arrange this?  Many thanks and hope all went well in the States...couldn't get over to NYC or Austin unfortunately! Going to see Todd Rundgren tonight though :-)

Make sure you keep that copy. Might be worth a lot some day.  Zorida of Junk Removal Dayton

Art Work and Bum Fuzz

Posted by scott owen on May 5, 2017 at 17:15 0 Comments

My Bum Fuzz unit just arrived in California along with some plectrums with Edwin art. It took me along time to order this unit, but the twenty five year gestation period for it to be built surely eclipses my lack of urgency. Best regards all...

Thank you for the music

A while back I asked Edwyn if he would let me use his music on a little film I made.  Here is the result: Mill Mechanics

Thanks for that.

Shareefa Energy – ‘Reasoning With Self’ - Review

A few months ago the BBC offered a profile of new emerging female poets, ‘Women Who Spit’. Watching the short films by Jemima Foxtrot, Cecilia Knapp and Deanna Rodger, I noted with great relief that the art of poetry is alive and well. I have always been fascinated by the medium. The ability to express intricate thoughts and feelings in a few lines of words. It is the most empowering process. And empowerment through self-expression… Continue

Dear Edwyn,

Can I just thank you for your contribution to my life. From that very first shiver I got listening to Felicity on the John Peel Show to the smile I still express today when you burst into laughter half way through Consolation Prize, it's important I let you know how much your music means to me before one of us croaks it.

I was hooked instantly and bought all the singles and albums, the ten inches, 12 inches and even ripped the flexi discs off Smash Hits and Melody…
