Hi all,

Picked up on this from the Twitter feed -:

Can anyone shed any light on the second CD? "Bird songs"? The whole package sounds like a great one anyway so I'm going to pre-order but just intrigued by this bonus disc.

Cheers,

Matt

Yes - I'm sure somebody knows.
Yep, see the ad on the front page of this site:

The question is when? (Oh, maybe September 20!) It is not pre-orderable yet, though.
Can you get all the pre order goodies from Rough Trade if you buy the Vinyl?
On Rough Trade's site they seem only to be doing the double cd on pre order with Edwyn's signed print.

maybe you need to get both formats..........................
Yes this was what I was wondering. I have pre ordered the Cd and goodies bundle and will also buy the vinyl when it's available. It'd be good if the bird themed CD was on vinyl too and available for pre order.
Oh sorry, the vinyl isn't on pre order yet? I'll investigate and get right back...
thin it is now at roughtrade, see the link on the front page! x
Vinyl...right, will check, xx
Hi everybody

I've just checked and the vinyl is now available to pre-order through Rough Trade - it comes with the goodies too. I rang up Rough Trade and they cancelled my CD order and then I reordered the vinyl version.

Just have to wait another 25 days now!
The October issue of The Word magazine has "Do It Again" on the cover CD too. More good publicity for Edwyn from the magazine and described as "a stunning return to form". Although, that does suggest Edwyn was out of form previously but I don't ever remember that!
Wee bit more detail on the Rough Trade site about the bonus disc...........

rough trade exclusive with a bonus cd of 19 bird related songs from peggy lee, the swallows, shirley temple, manfred mann, linton kwesi johnson etc, an exclusive edwyn print and signed by the man himself. 'losing sleep', the seventh album from former orange juice frontman (and 'a girl like you' hitmaker) edwyn collins is the scottish indie legend's first album written since recovering from two brain hemorrhages in 2005. the album features collins co-writing tunes with contemporaries (johnny marr, roddy frame of aztec camera) and progeny (franz ferdinand's alex kapranos and nick mccarthy, the cribs' ryan jarman, the drums, and the magic numbers' romeo stodart).

Art Work and Bum Fuzz

Posted by scott owen on May 5, 2017 at 17:15 0 Comments

My Bum Fuzz unit just arrived in California along with some plectrums with Edwin art. It took me along time to order this unit, but the twenty five year gestation period for it to be built surely eclipses my lack of urgency. Best regards all...

Thank you for the music

A while back I asked Edwyn if he would let me use his music on a little film I made.  Here is the result: Mill Mechanics

Thanks for that.

Shareefa Energy – ‘Reasoning With Self’ - Review

A few months ago the BBC offered a profile of new emerging female poets, ‘Women Who Spit’. Watching the short films by Jemima Foxtrot, Cecilia Knapp and Deanna Rodger, I noted with great relief that the art of poetry is alive and well. I have always been fascinated by the medium. The ability to express intricate thoughts and feelings in a few lines of words. It is the most empowering process. And empowerment through self-expression… Continue

Dear Edwyn,

Can I just thank you for your contribution to my life. From that very first shiver I got listening to Felicity on the John Peel Show to the smile I still express today when you burst into laughter half way through Consolation Prize, it's important I let you know how much your music means to me before one of us croaks it.

I was hooked instantly and bought all the singles and albums, the ten inches, 12 inches and even ripped the flexi discs off Smash Hits and Melody…
