What does your Orange Juice/Edwyn Collins music collection consist of?

So far by Orange Juice I have:
1. You Can't Hide Your Love Forever (LP)
2. Bridge (45' single which came with a live version of "Poor Old Soul")
3. Lean Period (12' single)
4. Day I went Down To Texas (Flexidisc)
5. Texas Fever EP (Special French pressing :O)

I don't have any of Edwyn's solo records but I should be getting to work on that soon :)

OJ: Rip it Up LP, Dada With Juice VHS and Glasgow School CD.
Also a cassette of an early gig in 1979, it's somewhere in boxes.
I like my copy of Glasgow School, the package is torn after being listened a zillion times.
From memeory......

Falling and laughing 7" (+ flexi)/Blueboy 7" (all 3 versions)/Simply thrilled honey 7" (with insert)/Poor old soul 7" (with postcard)/Ostrich Churchyard LP (+10")/original CD/Japanese CD (with 4 books inside!!!)/The heather's on fire (original CD)/Re-issue CD (different sleeve)/Japanese CD (extra lyric book)/Blueboy 7" (re-issue, green sleeve)/Blueboy CD single (re-issue green sleeve)/Postcard Australia only 4 track CD single (includes Orange juice)/Love love 7" & 12"/Felicity 7" & 12"/Rip it up 7" (double pack)/Bridge 7" (+ Poor old soul flexi)/4 X Polydor re-masterd CDs (who's idiot decision at Polydor was it to delete these?)/Rip it up 12"/Flesh of my flesh 12"/Lots of solo stuff by Edwyn, Malcom, James, etc and some Postcard memoribilia (including the Postcard brochure, kept in an air tight vault hehehe).
Australian album release called "More of her" by "band" called Four Hours Sleep - Edwyn sings a great upbeat song called Don't you ever listen to me, which was released also as a single. 1996 Mushroom Records.

Couple of smelly cassette releases:
One was shrinkwrapped with What Presence? single - features 1. In a nutshell 2. Simply Thrilled Honey 3. Dying Day. All recorded live ath Glasgow Pavilion by Radio Clyde 26/3/84

Another was shrinkwrapped with another single, maybe Rip it up ...
It was recorded in 1979 by Malcolm Ross and features: 1. Felicity 2. Botswana 3. Time to Develop
4. Simply Thrilled Honey (from memory). The sound quality is poor and the two unreleased songs are imho mediocre.

LP - The Fruit of Original Sin - Various Artists - including Orange Juice track (Wan light?) re-released on Ostrich Churchyard or whatever the postcard re-release was called. This LP has a wonderful gatefold cover and there's a great pic of Edwyn in the sleeve notes.

Wasn't there some CD 3" version of Poor Old Soul given away with a Japanese fanzine called 'Lock, stock and Barrell' or something like that, around the same time as the Postcard re-releases. I don't have it but I don't lose any sleep over it.
I've got most of the OJ vinyl ( bar 'Falling & Laughing'...) and all the cds, all Edwyns marvellous solo albums and the greatness of the Paul Quinn records...I've also got the Bob London hand drawn sleeve of 'Home Again' ; it was the first copy I bought - how lucky is that ?

Looking forward to the OJ CD Box set.

My one consists of the usual vinyl plus live recordings from 3 concerts back in the 80s.

Happy to swap for other ones.

I have most of the O.J. vinyl including all of the Postcard singles and the two vinyl lp's that came out on the reactivated Postcard label. I even have the ten inch "irritation disk" that came with early copies of "Ostrich Churchyard". I have all of the Edwyn solo albums on vinyl (the one's that were released in that format, that is) plus several of the singles, including that really cool ltd. boxed edition of the 7" of "50 Shades Of Blue" (that was the one that came in the boxed format, wasn't it?) that came with the badge and print. I had a couple of those mid 90's O.J. reissues on cd, but I sold them not long ago after I bought the cd box set. I've looked for a copy of that "Lock, Stock & Barrel" Japanese magazine cd for years, but I've never been able to find one. That would have been a nice addition to the box, but guess it was already full to the brim with goodies! A personal item I treasure is a hand written note that Alan Horne sent me that he included along with a Postcard catalog/poster from the reactivated era. Really nice of him to do that.

Art Work and Bum Fuzz

Posted by scott owen on May 5, 2017 at 17:15 0 Comments

My Bum Fuzz unit just arrived in California along with some plectrums with Edwin art. It took me along time to order this unit, but the twenty five year gestation period for it to be built surely eclipses my lack of urgency. Best regards all...

Thank you for the music

A while back I asked Edwyn if he would let me use his music on a little film I made.  Here is the result: Mill Mechanics

Thanks for that.

Shareefa Energy – ‘Reasoning With Self’ - Review

A few months ago the BBC offered a profile of new emerging female poets, ‘Women Who Spit’. Watching the short films by Jemima Foxtrot, Cecilia Knapp and Deanna Rodger, I noted with great relief that the art of poetry is alive and well. I have always been fascinated by the medium. The ability to express intricate thoughts and feelings in a few lines of words. It is the most empowering process. And empowerment through self-expression… Continue

Dear Edwyn,

Can I just thank you for your contribution to my life. From that very first shiver I got listening to Felicity on the John Peel Show to the smile I still express today when you burst into laughter half way through Consolation Prize, it's important I let you know how much your music means to me before one of us croaks it.

I was hooked instantly and bought all the singles and albums, the ten inches, 12 inches and even ripped the flexi discs off Smash Hits and Melody…
