Hi Tom,we're envious. Wish we were in Helmsdale right now. I heard the deer have suffered a lot this winter...nice to see them with some food out. Beautiful at Forsinard. Grace

Edwyn and Grace, I nearly spat out my cornflakes when you came on BBC this morning. I've been a member of your site for a year or so but hadn't looked for a few weeks so didn't know you were on. It was excellent. Poignant, full of humour and demonst…

Watch this....

This incredible woman describes so eloquently her experience of a brain haemorrhage. Edwyn has often amazed me with his halting but very moving descriptions of how he felt in the aftermath of his stroke. It intrigues me. Dr Bolte Taylor takes you with her.

Review from The Highland News, ah, bless 'em...

Audience loved Edwyn Collins
Published: 22 October, 2009
GLASGOW band The 1990s set the tone with enough chutzpah from Jackie McKeown to own up halfway through You're Supposed To Be My Friend: "I'm just going to tune. It'll be better for you, it'll be better for me!".

And stopping the song dead to do it, the band balanced it against a restart that tripped you straight back into the pleasure.
With echoes of Devo – and even glam rock soaking up through The Box, it should have been no surprise t… Continue

...I am back for one last time; I promise to get lost after this.

Well I never; my post got picked up all over the place, The Beeb (and thanks to Stuart and Mark on BBC Radio 2 for the support and wisdom) , The Guardian, lots of others. Several US sites where many people offered to support me if I SUED, which is, I suppose, the American way. But I've been down that road before and it's a long and hard one, especially in the US and France. You may have right on your s… Continue

riposte continues...

....part 2...

Andrew Loog Oldham said that getting ripped off (by the industry) was your entrance fee to the music business of the sixties, so get over it. He’s right and things have not changed. We are very over it, but nonetheless aware of who the biggest bootleggers around are. It’s not the filesharers. Personally, we’ve always loved bootlegs. Even when Edwyn was really skint at the fag end of the eighties, I remember being in Camden market and seeing some tapes of a couple of his shows on s… Continue

My riposte to the Featured Artists Coalition's statement......part 1

I lost it a bit today when I read this...The Air Statement
So this is what I wrote on their website...

I am Edwyn Colllins manager. Let me tell you a story. At the beginning of this year I noticed that Edwyn’s myspace had gone bit wonky and I tried to upload the tracks back on to the music player. His most famous track, which he owns the copyright in, as he does for most of the music he’s recorded in his life (preferring to go it alone than have his music trapped “in perpetuity” to use the cont… Continue

Hi Grace,

Thank you so much for your message. It was lovely to hear from you and that you approve of the poster.

Johns project is indeed brilliant and I was very chuffed that he asked me to be a small part it. John sent me Falling and Laughing as a thankyou for doing the poster, It was amazing, life affirming, beautiful and incredibly emotional. You guys rock!

hi Grace. i have just read your amazing book. what a moving read in terms of getting across the dreadful dreadful time edwyn went through and you and your family. your honesty and wit made it a heart rendering and uplifting account of what happened and how through sheer fight edwyn has been able to rebuild aided by you and some great professionals (and despite others!). i was a big oj fan, with STH being my fave...am now discovering later solo stuff esp Home Again! Hope to get to BB tomorrow. love and al the best to you both. rob

Hi

I just wanted to say hello. I watched the documentary on your life with Edwyn and it was so heartwarming. It's so obvious to see how much love is in your family and how close you both are.

Since then I have ordered your book and I can't wait for it to arrive. I have always been blown away by Edwyn's talent and I am so pleased that he has the strength to return to music, something I know that means so much to many people.

I hope that you have a sunshiney day and that maybe I'll get to see Edwyn play live soon. Until then, love to you and yours...
