How Edwyns story changed my life...

Posted on October 3, 2009 at 18:30 0 Comments

My wife Uschi passed away the night to January the 25th. 2004 exactly at 00:00.

The ovary cancer was discovered on September the 15th, 2003, when she went to the doctor, because she had stomach complaints. The tumor was in the size of a grapefruit, it was stage 4. We where both shocked deeply, because a few month ago, Mai 2003, she had the annual cancer control checkup and there was nothing found at that date.

I had no doubt in my mind that i would do everything to be able to… Continue

Hi Edwyn,
please do de-activate the option, that you don't allow bands to add you as a myspace friend.
I'm listed on myspace as a musician myself and i do love your stuff, way before i came back to making music.
I lost my wife over 5 years ago to cancer and i had to promise her, that one day i'll record all the songs i've played and sang to her. So like you, myspace is a part of healing for me too.
I would be honored if you would add me.
Keep getting better and i wish you all the best.
Greetings from Germany,
Joachim

(by the way.... Home again is so good... it hurts...)

Dear Edwyn,

Can I just thank you for your contribution to my life. From that very first shiver I got listening to Felicity on the John Peel Show to the smile I still express today when you burst into laughter half way through Consolation Prize, it's important I let you know how much your music means to me before one of us croaks it.

I was hooked instantly and bought all the singles and albums, the ten inches, 12 inches and even ripped the flexi discs off Smash Hits and Melody…

The origins are finite.

Listening to the multi cd re-release and re-mix of 'The Velvet Underground' (1969) album, I noticed more clearly the lyric…….'Some kind of love, the possibilities are endless…'
Could this be the origin of the now legendary phrase?
I am reminded of the NME's description of their C81 cassette that Josef K , Orange Juice and Aztec Camera were the reincarnation of the 1968, 1969 and 1970 Velvet Underground.
Not getting any Velvet Underground stuff until…

AN IMAGINARY COMPILATION ALBUM

I've tried to imagine a 10-track vinyl LP which would offer the best of Edwyn's solo material.
