Malcolm

It has only just dawned on me since purchasing a lovely pale blue fender mustang and logic pro recently that all the initial musical pieces I have been laying down (not there yet) have been bugging me as to where on earth my inner music/ guitaring influence comes from..then at the weekend it dawned on me that all my attempted offbeat/interesting/dynamic chords have been influenced by Josef Ks output..confirmed by me going through all the JK singles and album..and most likely seeing you perform with Josef K (orange Juice heading) at the London Drill Hall in the very early 80s ( I still remember the airport announcements of each song!)..anyway I will continue my musical passage with a nod to your fabulous ground breaking way of playing. Many Thanks

Hi Malcolm - completely agree with Duncan and Andrew here...great work with the Miffs. Your playing with OJ was and still is an inspiration and it's good to hear that chiming tone again. All in the fingers....lovely. I've updated the file 'Orange Juice Songbook' (Forum/General Discussion)with a fuller treatment of Turn Away. Have a look and let me know what you think.

Hi Malc - Loving your collaboration with the Low Miffs. Read somewhere that your not playing on the track Round and Round on P Haig's Relive, is that true? - it's one of the stand out tracks on the album - did he play on your version on Low Shot?

Really enjoying your new music with the Miffs. Fresh but with a flavour of the old days!

Hi, Malc. great to see you playing at T in the Park playing Sorry for Laughing. I never saw I thought I hear that song being played again live. You havn't changed a bit. I love Franz Ferdinand too.
All goes well with the Low Miffs.

Hi Malcolm - i'm in the process of putting together a post for my music blog about the Flesh Of My Flesh 12". It would be brilliant if you could share any memories with me of that record..particularly the b-side "Lord John White.." which I think is a real hidden gem! if you have the time my contact email is frankie@frankiemachine.com

Art Work and Bum Fuzz

Posted by scott owen on May 5, 2017 at 17:15 0 Comments

My Bum Fuzz unit just arrived in California along with some plectrums with Edwin art. It took me along time to order this unit, but the twenty five year gestation period for it to be built surely eclipses my lack of urgency. Best regards all...

Thank you for the music

A while back I asked Edwyn if he would let me use his music on a little film I made.  Here is the result: Mill Mechanics

Thanks for that.

Shareefa Energy – ‘Reasoning With Self’ - Review

A few months ago the BBC offered a profile of new emerging female poets, ‘Women Who Spit’. Watching the short films by Jemima Foxtrot, Cecilia Knapp and Deanna Rodger, I noted with great relief that the art of poetry is alive and well. I have always been fascinated by the medium. The ability to express intricate thoughts and feelings in a few lines of words. It is the most empowering process. And empowerment through self-expression… Continue

Dear Edwyn,

Can I just thank you for your contribution to my life. From that very first shiver I got listening to Felicity on the John Peel Show to the smile I still express today when you burst into laughter half way through Consolation Prize, it's important I let you know how much your music means to me before one of us croaks it.

I was hooked instantly and bought all the singles and albums, the ten inches, 12 inches and even ripped the flexi discs off Smash Hits and Melody…
