P.S the music teachers have enough faith in us to book us in to play at the spa next year in the annual music port event, with bands playing like misty in roots. although we aren t playing on the same stage as them.

thanks for that, hopefully sometime soon.

the band is going great actually, and since we are the only band in headlands we get all the time in the world to practice. we are playing one song at the christmas concert tomorrow. Mostly just playing covers at the moment but starting to write now.

just wondering if you knew any names of any places where we could practice as it is hard to concentrate when playing at my friends houses.

thanks again!

That would be great hopefully sometime soon.

The band is going great actually. doing a few covers at the moment and starting to write songs. Since we are the only band in headlands all the music teachers are raving about us and actually have enough faith in us to put us onto the lineup at the spa
in a music festival next year!. We are actually playing rip it up in the chrsitmas concert on Wednesday so we need to get practicing.

Just wondering if you have any names of any practice rooms in brid. I have
checked and my only result was for one in burton agnes but my dad said it wasn't worth checking out. It's just because we don't have any place to properly
play music together withought distractions.

Thanks again.

What a great way to bow out - at Wembley! Glad to hear that IR reformed for a couple of gigs and to hear that you`re still playing. Children make the best critics - if we have to have the horror that is X Factor etc then sack Cowell and his sycophants and put the children up there as the judges to say yay or nay.

Aaaaw Hornsea. Used to get dragged to the Potteries every so often. Hated the crockery bit which is ironic as I collect some of the old stuff now.

Lescott sold? When did this happen? Haven`t heard anything about him wanting to leave. Oh hang on, I think t`other half has just left the house muttering something about ungrateful, money grabbing, not fit to wear the shirt and that he was picking someone up GP to drive him down the East Lancs Road. Something to do with Project Denim.

The cat can be rather stern hence his name - Dr Thomas Hardcore esq. He has his own Facebook page (under Thomas Fluffmore). Ridiculous but I blame it all on THE Alan Horne. His cat, Isaac, has his own page so Tom wanted a piece of the action. As someone said `There is, incidently, no way of talking about cats that enables one to come off as a sane person`.

That must have been a hard decision to make and then go cold turkey given your passion for playing and it being a very large part of your life etc. I can understand why it would be difficult to go and see Edwyn play live.

Footie? Has the season started? Must have missed it.

Hello Mr Skinner

Edwynfest is now over and you`re prediction was right, it was superb. His birthday bash was a wonderful wonderful night. Brought tear t`eye it did. You may well know this though - did you go?

I was chatting to a guy at the shows and we were discussing Edwyn gigs. He mentioned you (the guy who played on Hope and Despair, Skinner - Frank?)and your skit for playing the beginning of a Smiths track much to Edwyn`s chagrin.

Disappointed with quality of my cake photo but the Photo Police were on the prowl and people were getting scolded. Camera on phone - flash off to try and go undected and hoped for the best. Never mind.

Let`s not mention the footie.

Regards
Doris

Oh yes, I do believe the incorrectly buttoned cardigan was an affectation. Surely a grown man could not get it wrong every time? What ever happened to those likely lads?

I`ve added this linkIR.jpg

If it doesn`t work the photo is in My Photos.

I used to tape tons of stuff from the radio and keep a record of what was on each tape in little books. I would never record over anything so as a result have nearly 200 tapes and lots of little books. I came across this book from late 1983 with the entry `You Need Shoes`. I like the way it is in capital letters - very few entries got the caps! Haven`t listened to the tape so not sure where it is recorded from but I am sure you`ll probably know. As you will see I had (and still have) a very eclectic taste in music. Roland Rat??? What was I thinking? The shame of it.

The `innocent` Brid boys consisted of a lad with a blond flat-top and his mates. One of the mates used to wear a tweed jacket or a cardi which was always buttoned up wrong. The flat-top used to step out with one of my friends. No names, no pack-drill!

Art Work and Bum Fuzz

Posted by scott owen on May 5, 2017 at 17:15 0 Comments

My Bum Fuzz unit just arrived in California along with some plectrums with Edwin art. It took me along time to order this unit, but the twenty five year gestation period for it to be built surely eclipses my lack of urgency. Best regards all...

Thank you for the music

A while back I asked Edwyn if he would let me use his music on a little film I made.  Here is the result: Mill Mechanics

Thanks for that.

Shareefa Energy – ‘Reasoning With Self’ - Review

A few months ago the BBC offered a profile of new emerging female poets, ‘Women Who Spit’. Watching the short films by Jemima Foxtrot, Cecilia Knapp and Deanna Rodger, I noted with great relief that the art of poetry is alive and well. I have always been fascinated by the medium. The ability to express intricate thoughts and feelings in a few lines of words. It is the most empowering process. And empowerment through self-expression… Continue

Dear Edwyn,

Can I just thank you for your contribution to my life. From that very first shiver I got listening to Felicity on the John Peel Show to the smile I still express today when you burst into laughter half way through Consolation Prize, it's important I let you know how much your music means to me before one of us croaks it.

I was hooked instantly and bought all the singles and albums, the ten inches, 12 inches and even ripped the flexi discs off Smash Hits and Melody…
