Art Work and Bum Fuzz

My Bum Fuzz unit just arrived in California along with some plectrums with Edwin art. It took me along time to order this unit, but the twenty five year gestation period for it to be built surely eclipses my lack of urgency. Best regards all...

Thank you for the music

A while back I asked Edwyn if he would let me use his music on a little film I made.  Here is the result: Mill Mechanics

Thanks for that.

Shareefa Energy – ‘Reasoning With Self’ - Review

A few months ago the BBC offered a profile of new emerging female poets, ‘Women Who Spit’. Watching the short films by Jemima Foxtrot, Cecilia Knapp and Deanna Rodger, I noted with great relief that the art of poetry is alive and well. I have always been fascinated by the medium. The ability to express intricate thoughts and feelings in a few lines of words. It is the most empowering process. And empowerment through self-expression… Continue

Thanks

Dear Edwyn,

Can I just thank you for your contribution to my life. From that very first shiver I got listening to Felicity on the John Peel Show to the smile I still express today when you burst into laughter half way through Consolation Prize, it's important I let you know how much your music means to me before one of us croaks it.

I was hooked instantly and bought all the singles and albums, the ten inches, 12 inches and even ripped the flexi discs off Smash Hits and Melody…

The origins are finite.

Listening to the multi cd re-release and re-mix of 'The Velvet Underground' (1969) album, I noticed more clearly the lyric…….'Some kind of love, the possibilities are endless…'
Could this be the origin of the now legendary phrase?
I am reminded of the NME's description of their C81 cassette that Josef K , Orange Juice and Aztec Camera were the reincarnation of the 1968, 1969 and 1970 Velvet Underground.
Not getting any Velvet Underground stuff until…

AN IMAGINARY COMPILATION ALBUM

I've tried to imagine a 10-track vinyl LP which would offer the best of Edwyn's solo material.

Edwyn Collins at the Sydney Festival

Just seen Edwyn in concert in the wonderful Spiegeltent, amazing show full of beautiful music and positive energy. Have to admit I cried through the opening 'falling and Laughing'. Edwyn - Sydney loves you along with James and Carwyn. Last night's Parramatta gig received a great review in the Sydney Morning Herald. Don't leave it another 18 years before you come back again.

One of the All-time Greats!

I will never forget the day I was shopping in a clothing store in a mall, and I heard a new song come on over the loudspeaker.  I was riveted by how COOL it was...."A Girl Like You."  I found out who it was and bought the album that day.  I've worn out several copies of it over the years.  It remains a freaking MASTERPIECE in music history.  I rank it easily in the top 20 albums of all time.  Of course, Edwyn has made a lot of great music throughout his career, but for that album alone he…
