Hi Edwyn & Grace. I had to sign up just to say how absorbed I am in your book "Falling and Laughing". For me, parts of it are very hard to read - they are so similar to what I am told I went through. I didn't experience anything quite as bad as you Edwyn, but I was only given a 10% chance of making it until they transferred me to Southampton Neurological Unit. I beat you in getting there - 24 December 2004! My stroke was a bleed too, and I was out of it and have no memories of Southampton at all. Vague memories of Bournemouth General when I was transferred back there. And resonable memories of Christchurch Stroke Unit. I read the bit in thhe Daily Telegraph just recently and immediately wanted to read the book. Grace what you say about some hospitals, is so true. Without you fighting for him, Edwyn would not be where he is today. Without the professional care I received I wouldn't be here at all either. Well done for writing the book - it is an important time to raise the profile of strokes and get people to hospital quicker. Bravo!
