Hello everyone!
I'm Becks from Christchurch NZ and a week after our first earthquake in Sept 2010 I fell down the stairs and landed on my head....to cut things short...I was in a coma for 10 days, had half my skull out and out into a freezer for 2 months and when I became conscious again I was put in a ward and then to a rehab centre. I damaged the right side of my brain and the left side suffers...my ear can't really hear, i can't feel anything in my left hand and i have Epilepsy. When the put my skull back in and i came home I haemorraged and looked like Elephant Man and nearly died again...18 hours of brain surgery and lots of scarring in my brain have caused Epilepsy (I'm trying to control it but haven't worked or driven since the accident) February 22 last year I was at home alone and the big earthquake struck...our beautiful city is munted and 185 people were killed....luckily I was at home (under the table for 4 hours)...we have had 7000 earthquakes at least since the first one. I hate them! But knowing Edwyn has been through the same trials as myself (and my fiance and 15 year old daughter have been too) and reading a book so similar to our own dilemmas has given us more optimism....so thankyou! Hopefully things will continue to get better for all of us. I have loved Orange Juice and Edwyn Collins from the first moment I heard them/him solo. Kia Kaha x
