Pale Blue Eyes, with Paul Quinn on vocals

Can't remember the name of the show, but nice set. Edwyn hired the posh G brand guitar from Phil Harris, famous guitar dealer and ex of the Edgar Broughton Band.

This song made quite a few nice young ladies I knew go weak at the knees back in the day.

I have always really liked this cover version. I have the 12" single at home, and only recently copied it over for my iPod. Paul Quinn's voice was great and I love the sound of Edwyn's guitar. I was at Uni with Paul, and it was ages before I knew he could sing, because he spoke so quietly! I also love teh singing he did on the "Rip it Up" Album, including "Mud in Your Eye". Great stuff.

Wonderful stuff! Takes me back to those great gigs Paul did with the Independent Group back at the Glasgow Athenaeum. What a voice the man has. (And no mean guitar work there either, big yin)

The origins are finite.

Listening to the multi cd re-release and re-mix of 'The Velvet Underground' (1969) album, I noticed more clearly the lyric…….'Some kind of love, the possibilities are endless…'
Could this be the origin of the now legendary phrase?
I am reminded of the NME's description of their C81 cassette that Josef K , Orange Juice and Aztec Camera were the reincarnation of the 1968, 1969 and 1970 Velvet Underground.
Not getting any Velvet Underground stuff until…

I've tried to imagine a 10-track vinyl LP which would offer the best of Edwyn's solo material.
