There`s an exhibition at National Conservation Centre in Liverpool - Sound and Vision - the music and fashion photographed by Francesco Mellina, Liverpool, 1978-82. On now until 31 August 2009. Free admission.

Great exhibition and in the midst of it is a photo of Orange Juice taken in Sefton Park. What a fabulous surprise. I am embarrassed to say I squealed.

Well worth a visit.

It must have been a great surprise. Did you take a photo of it?

I remember when the used have festivals in Sefton Park in the eighties. I am surprised I didn't go if OJ were playing. I live in Manchester.
I wasn`t allowed to take a photo..booo.

I`m not originally from these parts (Liverpool) but I`m not sure if it was just a photo in the park and OJ were playing somewhere else in Liverpool. I may be wrong but I`m sure someone told me they had gone to see them in town in the early 80`s.
I can't remember. But I remember The New Manx Hotel. In Toxteth. We were the first group to stay there. After us, lots of bands stayed there, he had photos all over the walls. We called him Santa, the man who owned it, (Jim) he used to answer the children's Christmas letters. And he gave you breakfast even if you got up at 3 in the afternoon!
Wait a minute, I remember. With Francesco, the photographer. It was for THE FACE. We played at Eric's, I think.
I remember my brother coming back from Pickwicks Night Club in Liverpool in the early 80's after watching OJ. He told me that after the show he was lucky enough to talk to James Kirk at the bar. They were talking about the song Wan Light. I think he still has the ticket stub. I was far to young to go but was very jealous.
I'm not far from Liverpool so thanks for posting this! I'll be sure to check it out! :)
Am I right in thinking it was called "larks in the park," the Sefton Park festival? I remember going to something called that - what a long time ago - but alot of fun. I remember, we all used to wear these massive great big coats from Oxfam, both boys and girls. There didn't seem to be much central heating in the wavertree terraces, so we didn't take them off all day - that's what I remember about Rodney St, Hope St, and parties in warehouses. Everyone in big coats and loads of laffs. 1982 ish. glory days and beehive hair and the boys never bought their own eye liner but always nicked from a girl.
Asked the other half and he confirmed there was a `lark in the park`. The Bunnymen played apparently. Funny you talk about the big coats, there are photos of guys and gals in various clubs in Liverpool with said coats. We reminicised over our big coats - colours, styles etc. What halcyon days. I believe the OJ photo has Mr Collins esq sporting a large coat.

Art Work and Bum Fuzz

Posted by scott owen on May 5, 2017 at 17:15 0 Comments

My Bum Fuzz unit just arrived in California along with some plectrums with Edwin art. It took me along time to order this unit, but the twenty five year gestation period for it to be built surely eclipses my lack of urgency. Best regards all...

Thank you for the music

A while back I asked Edwyn if he would let me use his music on a little film I made.  Here is the result: Mill Mechanics

Thanks for that.

Shareefa Energy – ‘Reasoning With Self’ - Review

A few months ago the BBC offered a profile of new emerging female poets, ‘Women Who Spit’. Watching the short films by Jemima Foxtrot, Cecilia Knapp and Deanna Rodger, I noted with great relief that the art of poetry is alive and well. I have always been fascinated by the medium. The ability to express intricate thoughts and feelings in a few lines of words. It is the most empowering process. And empowerment through self-expression… Continue

Dear Edwyn,

Can I just thank you for your contribution to my life. From that very first shiver I got listening to Felicity on the John Peel Show to the smile I still express today when you burst into laughter half way through Consolation Prize, it's important I let you know how much your music means to me before one of us croaks it.

I was hooked instantly and bought all the singles and albums, the ten inches, 12 inches and even ripped the flexi discs off Smash Hits and Melody…
