Hi,
Can anyone help me about a venue I saw OJ playing in early 80s. I may have been a wee bit drunk but seem to remember the venue was half way up Sauchiehall street nearly opposite where M&S is and had a car park next to it. There was a sweeping staircase down to the dancefloor/stage area. I'm sure the Associates were OJs support but my memories were in a slightly drunken state at the time and it was nearly 30 years ago!
Thanks Allan
PS It may have been on same tour in 1981 when OJ played Bannockburn Community Centre.

Think that might of been Mayfair Ballroom.
Hi,

I remember travelling from Cambridge to Nottingham in the early 80s with a pal down visiting. Unfortunately we got there to find the gig cancelled. I remember feeling the same sense of berft-ment when Southside Johnny cancelled at Strathclyde Uni - boy did I want to see them back then ("Hearts Of Stone" time), but no malice borne to either. Not an entirely germane comment, but you have struck a chord......

Neil.
Sounds like Roseland to me when I seem to remember The Fire Engines supported them. I still have a poster hidden away somewhere for this concert so will post details if I can find it.
Hi Allan, Sorry about the delay but I managed to find the poster for that gig, a pretty bog standard affair produced - I guess - by the venue rather than Postcard.

It was Roseland in Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow & the support was The Fire Engines. 22. April (1981?) and tickets were £2 from Listen, Virgin and Bloggs.

Dunno if I've ever spent a coupla quid as wisely since.
Thanks for that Jamie - my memory is going.........

Art Work and Bum Fuzz

Posted by scott owen on May 5, 2017 at 17:15 0 Comments

My Bum Fuzz unit just arrived in California along with some plectrums with Edwin art. It took me along time to order this unit, but the twenty five year gestation period for it to be built surely eclipses my lack of urgency. Best regards all...

Thank you for the music

A while back I asked Edwyn if he would let me use his music on a little film I made.  Here is the result: Mill Mechanics

Thanks for that.

Shareefa Energy – ‘Reasoning With Self’ - Review

A few months ago the BBC offered a profile of new emerging female poets, ‘Women Who Spit’. Watching the short films by Jemima Foxtrot, Cecilia Knapp and Deanna Rodger, I noted with great relief that the art of poetry is alive and well. I have always been fascinated by the medium. The ability to express intricate thoughts and feelings in a few lines of words. It is the most empowering process. And empowerment through self-expression… Continue

Dear Edwyn,

Can I just thank you for your contribution to my life. From that very first shiver I got listening to Felicity on the John Peel Show to the smile I still express today when you burst into laughter half way through Consolation Prize, it's important I let you know how much your music means to me before one of us croaks it.

I was hooked instantly and bought all the singles and albums, the ten inches, 12 inches and even ripped the flexi discs off Smash Hits and Melody…
