I was also at Maida Vale - what a wonderful evening it was. Touching, lyrical, and often extremely funny, and warmth absolutely radiating from the audience.
One of the most moving things I think I've ever seen was Grace kneeling by the side of the stage for the last couple of songs, gazing at the performance, enraptured and beaming. And some great backwards and forwards between her and Edwyn during the interview. Ever watchful, she was always there to clarify what Edwyn was saying or adding her own perspective.
It was a real privilege to see Edwyn playing guitar with Grace and Carwyn providing the strum - and he even started composing a new tune!
He was very funny about the angry person he was when he wrote Campaign for Real Rock - he's much mellower now. But Grace said he's getting more acerbic again as his recovery continues!
Hi Edwyn & Grace, both your energy & positiveness was very inspirational. Keep up the great music. As a massive Northern Soul fan for over 30 yrs both you & Vic have an amazing knack to creating great soul tracks and yes End of The Surrey People is one of the great albums !! all the best, Steve
I take it everyone knows the broadcasts are next week? 2nd and 3rd December, and some audio already up on the BBC website.
