Phoned again to check that it had been sent yesterday, and was told that it hadn't after all.
The girl I spoke to was really helpful, but said that they had sold all of the
bonus discs in store on Monday, and were waiting for more to arrive in the next
few days, when they would be sent along with the album.
I asked if the signed print would be there too, but she said they had received the wrong print
and that these would now go out at some time in the future.
Not the end of the world I know, but I'm really pissed off that these were ordered over
a month ago, and they haven't managed to at least send them out on release date.
Just had another call from Rough Trade.
Apparently 100 bonus discs arrived yesterday, rather than the 350 or so needed for
the preorders. So 100 packages were mailed yesterday, including mine, so it should
arrive tomorrow hopefully. They reckon they should get the rest of the bonus discs
today and mail the rest of the orders out as soon as they do.. I'm sure he also said
the cd covers were signed, I thought it was the print that would be signed?
Re the print, he said they had received some from the record company, but they
were of such poor quality, they refused to send them out.
They are expecting those to arrive by the weekend.
Interesting folks.....We made sure they got all the signed discs and albums from Edwyn by return. So sorry you've had to wait. As for the prints, I want them to be lovely so I will sort it out and if you have to wait, I'll get you something extra. I promise to make this up to you
Thanks for taking the time to reply, much appreciated. Don't want to seem like I'm moaning too much, just very keen to get my hands on the CD. A new Orange Juice/Edwyn release is to be savoured. Now, lets hope Domino are on the ball with 'Coals...'
I got that email yesterday but still nothing from the postie today. Mind you its pissing down in London just now so maybe he's late and might still come. Really wanted to hear the new album on vinyl before tonights show. Spotify just ain't the same. Come on rough trade. Wonder if i'll get mine signed 'cos i ordered the vinyl?
My Bum Fuzz unit just arrived in California along with some plectrums with Edwin art. It took me along time to order this unit, but the twenty five year gestation period for it to be built surely eclipses my lack of urgency. Best regards all...
A few months ago the BBC offered a profile of new emerging female poets, ‘Women Who Spit’. Watching the short films by Jemima Foxtrot, Cecilia Knapp and Deanna Rodger, I noted with great relief that the art of poetry is alive and well. I have always been fascinated by the medium. The ability to express intricate thoughts and feelings in a few lines of words. It is the most empowering process. And empowerment through self-expression… Continue
Can I just thank you for your contribution to my life. From that very first shiver I got listening to Felicity on the John Peel Show to the smile I still express today when you burst into laughter half way through Consolation Prize, it's important I let you know how much your music means to me before one of us croaks it.
I was hooked instantly and bought all the singles and albums, the ten inches, 12 inches and even ripped the flexi discs off Smash Hits and Melody…
Does anyone know anything about this mythical film that Edwyn was working on in the mid 80's with Alan Horne and Paul Quinn? Paul Blue Eyes and Ain't That Always The Way were credited as being from…Continue
