Just got tickets for the Liverpool gig at the Anglican Cathedral-great setting for it. My first ever gig was Orange Juice at the Mountford Hall as a 12 year old-I went with my mum who (don't tell her I told you) is now a pensioner so it is strange to be seeing Edwyn solo (well sort of) for the first time all these years later at the age of 40. So pleased, can't wait. I'm not obsessing about being 40 or anything, honest, but Edwyn and his music has been in my life for most of it and all being… Continue

I can't help myself from playing the 3 featured tracks over and over like some kind of possessed Alan Freed (altho' I don't think he was from Cheam). From what I've heard so far this marks yet another high point in Edwyn's musical catalogue. It brings out the best in the collaborators while remaining unmistakably Edwyn. A flamin' triumph is all I can say. Now back to the music..

Today I´ve bought my ticket to visit you at "Docks" in Hamburg, Sept. 24th - my personal highlight on the Reeperbahn Festival. I´m very happy about the opportunity to see and hear you here in Hamburg :-)) Only two weeks more.. Many greetings, Nils

I´m really glad that Edwyn is back...and released such a great new album ! Especially because I share a similar fate. I was --and still am- working for radio station Bremen Vier and played Edwyn´s music since the very first days on Postcard. I was glad to present his solo concert at the "Breminale"-festival over here many years ago and did a very memorable interview with him....
About 5 years ago I suffered a stroke myself and had a very hard time and still have to cope with the… Continue

Just got tickets for the show at Birmingham Glee Club, Nov 15th. That'll be a year since I went to the Bloomsbury Ballroom gig, if it's anything like that one it'll be worth the wait. Looking forward to hearing the new album too. Good times!

...besides that I'm looking forward to Edwyn's new album! I love the title song, it just became my official summer hit 2010 :)
Oh, and I found some old photos
from the tour 1995 in Germany, which is still one of the best tours I ever followed. And that's not just because I had the chance to take a look behind the curtain:… Continue

Hey Grace and Edwyn,
Ignacio Julia here, from Ruta66 magazine in Barcelona, trying to reconnect with you.
I'm reading Falling and Laughing just now and enjoying an advance copy of Losing Sleep.
Do you need my e-mail to answer or you already have it as I've registered?
Looking forward hearing back from you!

To: Grace Maxwell & Edwyn Collins.
We are REALLY grateful to you both for your book – Falling & Laughing. Almost exactly a year ago my wife Jean fell down the stairs in our home on the left side of her head in March 2009. She suffered a fractured skull and a critical brain injury. A month ago she had a large titanium plate inserted. Why is there such an amazing improvement? Perhaps it is the more normal shape to her head; perhaps it is the greatly improved protection for her brain;… Continue

Hope this is OK. Last year Mark Bradley and myself had our biography of Martin Stephenson (he of The Daintees) published - The Song Of The Soul. Plenty of references to Edwyn and Postcard Records in there. Available from the link below. Hope you enjoy it.

What a joy to read .A positive life affirming blast of a book .I would like to say i read it at one sitting but I can't as I as crying that much I had to put it down. This book helps fill in the missing weeks for me as I had a brain haemorrhage and have 3/4 weeks i can't account for. My wife says i should be grateful, that my only memory is 'I'm not going to die'. Anyway Grace this is the book that many of us wished we'd written about the experience but didn't have the talent or determination,so… Continue

Jeff and Robin from Heavenly are behind this beautiful thing full of writing on rivers, fishing, birds, music, anything. A real labour of love. Edwyn is working on their next themed playlist, but here is birdsong 5.
