Dear Grace, dear Edwyn,

we met in Paris a few days ago when you gave us this wonderful gig.
I am Jerome.

I found you a table to sit with your good friends at a café pub nearby after the show.
My loved Delphine and I shared a few precious minutes with you as you told us the story of the drawing book.
Edwyn insisted on the "crude crude crude" motto for his early pieces.

I can't draw a straight line :-),
I have no shame to say I enjoy the crude ones more than the eloquent and beautiful ones that come later in the book because they feel human and they tell the story.

At some point I told you Grace I had read your book prior to the show and you looked surprised (my interpretation). So I decided to reread it because you both signed it for me. Edwyn's signature is beautiful like a painting.

So I just finished it (again) and I cried every once in a while again, with joy mostly, and you now what ? Edwyn won the fight again !

As I was reading it for the second time I had a strange sudden fear that Edwyn would not come back. You did Edwyn. Thank you. You win every time.

I have listened to your music for ever. I have loved your wits for ever.
I am just a French man, I know, yet I lived fifteen months in Edinburgh, should count for something :-)

I am writing a few words to you because I feel silly not to have written before.

Back in Dr Syntax days I wanted to, back in Hope and despair days, I wanted to.

You don't want to intrude in people's life… you means me.

I am sorry i wasn't here for you in the dark hours.
I mean it.
I am not apologizing (I am not crazy enough). I am just thinking if I had had the guts you guys have, I would have had a go at my daydream of knowing you as friends. Would have written, made myself know, and maybe you'd have liked the person, and...

Thank you for the music. Thank you for the moment in Paris.

If ever you feel like a cool drink by the fireplace and a genuine French family meal at my place near Paris next you come, there'll be food and drink plenty to celebrate you.

In any case, next time you come, we'll be here again in the pit singing along and tapping feet.

We love you yeah !

PS : my girls, Geraldine, 17, Mathilde 13 and Lise 7, they love it when I play your latest album. I have told them nothing about Edwyn, the man. They just love your music. Thought you'd like to know.

Art Work and Bum Fuzz

Posted by scott owen on May 5, 2017 at 17:15 0 Comments

My Bum Fuzz unit just arrived in California along with some plectrums with Edwin art. It took me along time to order this unit, but the twenty five year gestation period for it to be built surely eclipses my lack of urgency. Best regards all...

A while back I asked Edwyn if he would let me use his music on a little film I made.  Here is the result: Mill Mechanics

Thanks for that.

Shareefa Energy – ‘Reasoning With Self’ - Review

A few months ago the BBC offered a profile of new emerging female poets, ‘Women Who Spit’. Watching the short films by Jemima Foxtrot, Cecilia Knapp and Deanna Rodger, I noted with great relief that the art of poetry is alive and well. I have always been fascinated by the medium. The ability to express intricate thoughts and feelings in a few lines of words. It is the most empowering process. And empowerment through self-expression… Continue

Dear Edwyn,

Can I just thank you for your contribution to my life. From that very first shiver I got listening to Felicity on the John Peel Show to the smile I still express today when you burst into laughter half way through Consolation Prize, it's important I let you know how much your music means to me before one of us croaks it.

I was hooked instantly and bought all the singles and albums, the ten inches, 12 inches and even ripped the flexi discs off Smash Hits and Melody…
